About Me

About Me

Hello, I am Janette. I am a UKCP accredited and BACP registered psychotherapist. I gained my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and Staffordshire University. I also hold the Advanced Diploma in Parks Inner Child Therapy (PICT) and am qualified as a PICT practitioner under the oversight of PICT’s founder, Penny Parks. PICT was developed to address issues of childhood trauma and abuse.

My training as a Couple's therapist follows the relational and developmental model studied with the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I also have experience and additional training in working with neurodiversity.

My combined training and professional experiences span over 17 years of working with different client groups across a range of settings. I am experienced in working with trauma from childhood, as well as adulthood, and have worked within secondary education settings, as well as within a specialist trauma service meeting with children, young people, and adults following disclosure or discovery of sexual abuse. I also meet with clients who have been bereaved or impacted by murder or manslaughter.

I have experience working within an East Midlands mental health service, conducting assessments and delivering psychotherapy to adults experiencing mental health, emotional and social distress.

I am an accredited psychotherapist for the Police Firearms Officers Association (PFOA) and have experience working with emergency services personnel. I welcome organisational referrals.
